Biodynamic Apprentice

We have an opportunity for someone to join the Farm team as a Land Apprentice. The post involves working on our farm and in our vegetable garden, often alongside other volunteers, students and trainees.
Our land is managed along Organic and Biodynamic principles, and we offer a training in Farming, Gardening and Forestry.

You will get hands-on practical training in agriculture and horticulture by working alongside our farmer and gardener, learning the skills, techniques and theoretical knowledge as you go along. Our farm is a 185 acre traditional Welsh upland farm with suckler cows, sheep, pigs and field crops. The garden supplies the college community with vegetables throughout the year. The course is registered with the BDAA Biodynamic Apprentice Training (see their web site for more details).

Currently, we have one Land Apprentice in his second year, and have a place for someone to join us as a First Year apprentice. The position is a live-in situation, where we will provide board and lodging, as well as a personal allowance and all costs involved in the course.
On the 'information for volunteers' page you will find details of the conditions under which you will live and work at Coleg Elidyr. Some of the details are obviously different from guest volunteers.
