Coleg Elidyr is a very diverse environment. On the one hand, we are a specialist residential college; on the other, we are also a life sharing community. Being employed at Coleg Elidyr calls for involvement and commitment which goes beyond just having a job here.
The community currently numbers around 100 people, which includes young people with special needs and everyone who works with, and for, them.
Within a Camphill Community you will find a group of people who live and work together according to professional expectations of our time as well as the non-denominational Christian principles based on the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner's
Anthroposophy
and of
Karl König
(the founder of
Camphill).
They, and those with special needs, aim to live together in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
There are many different roles in Coleg Elidyr: support workers, house managers, assistant house managers, teachers, work and workshop leaders, administrative staff and maintenance staff. Although the contribution from these people can be very different, the students are at the centre of our reason for being here and we seek to support, train and teach them in the best possible way.
The Camphill movement is to be found all over the world, and continues to attract people from many different countries, and this is true here also.
The people who work here come from rich and diverse cultural backgrounds. We very much recognize other religious beliefs, value diversity, and promote equality of opportunity for all.
We ask that everyone who works here, however, respects our celebration of the Christian festivals and our Christian ideals which form a central aspect to our community life.
We do have an opportunity for some staff to live in the community, and we are interested to hear from you what your thoughts are on living in, or living outside the community.
If you think that you could make a contribution to Coleg Elidyr and would like to come and work here, please take a look at the vacancies below.
