A specialist college for further education and training for young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities. Our person centred programmes of learning develop skills for life and work. This is achieved through a practical approach to learning and by utilising a wide range of activities, both on and off site. We make provision for residential and non-residential placements.
To be an inspiring and excellent college of further education and training where learners and staff walk the path of development together in a spirit of mutual respect.
With an holistic approach based on Camphill Community ideals and with deep respect for the spirit in every human being, to educate, train, guide and support learners in gaining life-skills, developing self-knowledge, communication and social skills, taking responsibility, making personal choices and attaining citizenship.
To let the individual learner be our guide and to foster the development of the whole person.
Camphill Communities are inspired by Anthroposophy. Our ideals are centred on the conviction that a human being is a threefold creation: Body, Soul and Spirit. To encourage growth and development, each of these requires wholesome nourishment and they need to be understood to form a whole together.
Therefore, to fulfil our Mission and Vision, we recognise that we have the responsibility to use our human and financial resources, meeting all statutory requirements, to lovingly care for every person and everything that is in the environment of the community, being mindful of their impact on the world as a whole.
We aim to create beauty and order in the physical environment and to provide food that is nourishing and wholesome. We strive to create equality, fun, harmony and respect in the social environment and we endeavour to create moments throughout the day, week and year when each one is given the opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of their own lives and those of the people around them.
An equal opportunities college and employer who celebrate diversity of ability, culture, religion, race and sexual orientation.
