
Coleg Elidyr is a Camphill Community specialist college for further education and training for young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
Our person centred programmes of learning develop skills for life and work. This is achieved through a practical approach to learning and by utilising a wide range of activities, both on and off site.
We make provision for residential and non-residential placements.
We provide an Educational as well as a Training and Transitions programme with a practical approach to learning, based on a wide range of learning activities.
Our programmes of learning are aimed at learners aged between 18 and 25, with extensions possible beyond 25. There are two programmes:
The college has 8 registered houses, where the young adults live in an extended family setting, sometimes together with staff, some of whom are volunteer helpers from all over the world.
The college is situated in the beautiful Upper Towy Valley in Mid Wales, at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains.
For those who come from further afield, we provide escorted transport to and from Coleg Elidyr at the beginning and end of each term along the M4 corridor from Severn Bridge to Hesston Services, as well as to Shrewsbury on the Heart of Wales line.
Coleg Elidyr is a member of the Association of Camphill Communities, a world-wide organisation dedicated to work with special needs.
The motto of Coleg Elidyr is "learning through doing", and our education and training programmes are experience-based.
